The Open Library is an Internet Archive project to show how books can be read online. Having tried and been mostly dissatisfied with a number of past online book reading projects, I looked at this one without a lot of hope of being different. But, it is different. the whole reading experience is much closer to the act of reading a physical book compared to other online reading sites I've tried. Page turning, for example, is very quick and smooth on the relatively old Windows XP desktop PC I tried it on.
