Google Search Blacklisting Mystery?

This is obviously not a high-volume destination website. Ever though it mostly serves as a personal notation system for me to keep track of interesting free software and web services, there are a few people who visit here now and then. And, the statistician in me finds it interesting to track the numbers.
One of the things that is quite evident from looking at various site statistics services is that most people find this site using a Google search and then don't return (sniff, sniff). That is probably not too unusual for a non-destination site like this (vs. big destination sites like Engadget, Digg, etc.). So, when Google stops crawling this site and stops sending people here, unique visits to this site craters (see graphic above). This happens about once every 45 to 90 days. I have no idea why this happens. But, it does and seems to be happening more frequently now.
Any ideas? I don't see this happening much (or at all) to my other personal blogs (see sidebar on the right).
