HFSExplorer 0.17: Read Mac OS X Drives from Microsoft Windows
HFSExplorer Window

Mac OS X can read and write drives formatted using FAT and FAT32. And, it can read (but not write) drives formatted using NTFS. However, Microsoft Windows cannot read Apple's HFS+ disk format. Fortunately, there is a free Open Source utility that can help you out with that problem...
It was designed for use for Mac owners who use Boot Camp to dual boot between Mac OS X and Windows. However, it works fine on a Windows XP PC connected to an external USB hard drive formatted with multiple partitions (NTFS, FAT32, and HFS+ in my case). I had to use the Computer Management administrative tool to learn the logical disk number and partition number for my HFS+ partition (see the figure below). But, once done, it was pretty easy to select it from HFSExplorer and take a look at Mac formatted partition under Windows.
