Adobe Reader 8.1 for Windows Vista

Adobe released...
If you look at the Popular Content list in the left sidebar, you'll note that the version 8 release generated the most reads of any single blog post here. The reason? It was a bit flaky under Vista. Unfortunately, 8.1's Vista install is still an example of flakiness. Installing either as a normal user or as an administrator results in a complaint that Windows Explorer is running (duh!). It looks like selecting Ignore lets the installation proceed to completion. But, it is still an annoying experience.

New problem with Adobe 8.1
New problem with Adobe 8.1 and Vista. For two months no problems. Then 3 days ago Sept 27, 2007 Adobe would load one document and as I stopped running the Doc an error message would appear. Vista would search for an answer but would not find one. I have tried reloading the update for 8.1. It will not complete. Reloading 8.1 and the error claims not enough space. I have run both PCdoctor 5 and RegCure. RegCure does find errors and fixes them but program still does not work. Also am getting another error message reagarding java script. jusched.exe and msnmsgr.exe problem.
Any ideas???
When I downloaded Adobe
When I downloaded Adobe Reader 8.0, Office 2007 became inoperable. My operating system is Vista Home Premium. After I removed Reader 8.0, Office 2007 operated perfectly. I called Adobe support and they indicated they had not heard of problem but were willing to help me solve problem for a fee. Is this a problem or is it just my problem?
I had exactly the same
I had exactly the same problem. customer support at Adobe suggested that my (very expensive) office 2007 product was not legitimate. If so, Office Depot owes me some money! Anyway, they have a joint licensing agreement and there seems to be a glich in the software recognition pathway.
I've installed Adobe 8.0 and
I've installed Adobe 8.0 and 8.1 on a desktop and notebook running Vista and Office 2007. Neither installation caused a problem with Office 2007.
