MindMeister: Web-based Mind Mapping

MindMeister.com
One of the most all-time most read posts on this blog (see the list on the left) is one about the Open Source FreeMind application. So, this web-based mind mapping service might interest some of you.

MindMeister

This web-based mind mapping tool is pretty easy to use and seems pretty fast (responsive). One little thing that bothered me is that there isn't any particular indication of when a mind map is saved. It does not happen in real time as far as I can tell. For example, if you make a change to the map and then use the back-arrow to move back to the home page, the changes are lost. But, if you click on Back to Home button in the upper right corner, the changes are saved before you are sent back to the home page.

You need to upgrade from the free version to the $4.16/month version to get beyond 6 mind maps and the ability to export to FreeMind and MindJet's Mindmanager. The table of features showing the differences between the free and for-free MindMeister accounts is found at: MindMeister Feature Comparison.

MindMeister's a good one but

MindMeister's a good one but there's an overwhelming range of these web-based mind mapping applications. Here's a list of all the other browser-based applications that do mind mapping, concept mapping, or diagramming on-line applications that have features to support mind mapping.
