Caring.com
This one falls a bit out of my usual categories list (freeware, Open Source, free downloadable content, or interactive web service). However, I've been thinking and speaking a lot about Enterprise Knowledge Capture as it relates to an aging workforce in my day job. And, like many other people I have parents that are aging (doing well so far!). And, of course, me and my fellow Baby Boomers are aging too. So, I figured some fellow baby boomers might find this site interesting/useful...
The question/slogan at the top of their home page reads: How can we help you care for your parents? The site is supported by advertising and seems to be well funded and has a staff of writers focused on major vertical topics related to cared of the aged.
Here's hoping everyone and their families had a safe and happy (US) Thanksgiving weekend!

caring.com indeed looks like
caring.com indeed looks like a good place to get information about elders and their care. There a number of players in this space (care.com being another) along with a bunch with the word elder in the name. May the best win in the marketplace. They need to connect with service providers, not just advertisers, to make a difference, in my opinion. carefolks.com and familyvirtualvisits.com are two that come to mind.
carefolks.com has just
carefolks.com has just signed up to use the video calling services of phonevideobooth.com. Is this compatible with any other handheld cell phones besides the iPhone?
