Pownce Open to Public: No Invitation Needed

Pownce.com is a, umm, hmm, way to send stuff to your friends. Hey, don't blame me, I copied that phrase from Pownce's about page. I'm told it is kind of a hybrid of Twitter/Jaiku and Tumblr. I really like Twitter, Jaiku, and Tumblr. I'm still not sure I "get" Pownce. But, I'm hoping someone can explain it to me :-)

I went to explore Pownce after reading your snippet. I decided to subscribe until I got to this part - We'll try to match your first 50 contacts and we won't store your username or password.
No thanks. I'm not ready to divulge my Gmail info - especially to a 'networking / sharing' website.
This is why everyone should read through the Privacy Statement of any website they intend to 'register' with.
From Pownce's Privacy Statement:
"We neither rent nor sell your personal information to anyone. We share your personal information only with your consent or to the business partners and affiliates as described below:
..."with your consent OR"... That's a big two-letter word isn't it?
