Virtual PC 2007 SP1 Installation vs. Windows Vista

Windows Vista really has a habit of getting in my way. I just updated Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 to Service Pack 1 (SP1). I probably should have Run as Administrator. However, that is NOT specified in the SP1 update instructions...

Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1

The result was the ridiculous warning above that stops the installation in its tracks. There may be an easier way, but this is what I did on the spot. First, I opened up a CMD (Command) window. Second, I started up Task Manager. Third, I terminated the Explorer.exe process using Task Manager. Fourth, I clicked the Retry button and completed the SP1 installation/update. Fifth, I typed in explorer.exe in the previously opened CMD window. This restored the Status bar and other Vista navigation elements that are part of the Explorer process (it is not just the window showing a file list). Finally, just for safety, I rebooted Vista in case Explorer was unstable after being stopped and restarted.

What a giant pain.

Running the update as

Running the update as Administrator does not help.

Your solution was the only way I could find to get around this.
