I downloaded and installed the free...

Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP

...on a PC running Windows XP SP3. I used the same RAW files shot with a Canon G3 that I tested on my Vista PC with Microsoft Pro Photo Tools and the Canon RAW CODEC for Vista. Guess what? The big difference is that the XP viewer works great! The RAW thumbnails look fine and images render as quickly as JPEGs in the RAW viewer. And, all this is happening on a 4 year old PC that is slower and has less RAM than the PC I use with Vista.

Glad I kept XP running on this PC.
