Portable Ubuntu: Run Ubuntu Linux as a Microsoft Windows App
LifeHacker as a good review of...

Portable Ubuntu Runs Ubuntu Inside Windows
Portable Ubuntu for Windows can be installed on a USB flash drive (438MB package) and uses coLinux to run Ubuntu and its apps as a windows inside of Microsoft Windows. I found it odd that the article mentions running apps like Audacity, GIMP, and VLC from Ubuntu since all of these Open Source apps have ready to install Windows binaries. I suspect it would also be faster to run these native versions from the native Portable Apps for Windows rather than fire up coLinux, unpack Ubuntu, and then run apps.
