YouTube Upload Not Working with Mac OS X Snow Leopard

Ran into an odd problem. I tried uploading a video from my Mac to YouTube. This is the first time I've tried to do this since upgrading the Mac to Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6). The problem is that YouTube doesn't even let me see the dialog box to upload a file from the Mac. You can see what the problem looks like in the screenshot above. This happens with both Firefox and Safari on the Mac.

I was able to upload a video file from a Windows 7 computer and Firefox without any problems.

I too am having this problem.

I too am having this problem. The Final Cut Pro 7 includes a share option for YouTube but this timed out after sending the file.

Same problem here. I also

Same problem here. I also have the snow leopard on an IMac. I couldn't use the upload menu on You Tube either. No dialog box. Tried both Safari and Firefox. Finally, I downloaded the Opera browser and that worked for me.

Might this be related to the

Might this be related to the outdated, insecure version of Flash distributed with Snow Leopard, which is actually a backgrade/downgrade for those that had the current version already installed?

Ryan: I thought about that

Ryan: I thought about that too and updated Flash. Still the same problem. However, although I'm still thinking it is Snow Leopard related, I have no idea what the actual cause is. In fact, YouTube upload works fine from an iMac in the office and my 1st generation MacBook. So, I'm at a loss for an explanation. I may have to wipe out the Mac and perform a clean install of Snow Leopard.

You have to delete Google

You have to delete Google Gears from your machine since it is not compatible with Snow Leopard. I think the file is called gears.plugin

Find it in spotlight and get rid of it. Worked for me.
