The Bing.com home page for Sept. 23, 2011 (first day of Fall) features the first video background (vs. the usual great still photos). The Bing Community blog provides a bit of background and a video about this video background page.
The wireless mouse I was using this morning stopped working. When I picked it up, I noticed that its underside looked slimy. Opening up the battery cover revealed that the two Duracell Ultra AA batteries had both burst. I went to the drawer where I had more of these batteries and noticed that the two boxes containing more batteries looked wet and eroded. None of these batteries were new. However, their best used dates were all stated to be March 2012. You can see the batteries and the boxes they were in from a couple of different angles in the photos below.
It was very disappointing to have an entire set of batteries burst like this.

The Livescribe Desktop for Mac OS X started crashing today. However, before doing that it told me that a newer version was available. So, I downloaded version 2.8.1 and installed it. The installation went to completion. However, I continue to get this error message from OS X about the smartpen’s driver.
And, oh yes, hey LiveScribe, could you stop launching LiveScribe Connect everytime I run the Desktop. I never ever need to use it 100% of the time. In fact, I only used it once for testing and do not want it launching all the time.
