Like many AT&T Wireless customers, I received this Hallmark greeting card in the mail today. The back of the card states that it was “Create especially for AT&T” and is made from recycled paper. It contains a 25% off coupon for accessories at the AT&T store.
If AT&T wants to be nice to customers it should provide a rebate for every dropped call. That would save a lot of people a lot of money.
The new “flat” chrome for Google Docs menus hit my account today. It looks good. But, I do not think there is any new functionality associated with the new menu look.
Steve Jobs’ resignation letter (as CEO, he will remain Chairman of the Board) is short and to the point.
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
Thanks for the amazing tech ride over the last couple of decades Steve!

GeekWire’s Todd Bishop reports that:
Amazon seeks Lab126 trademarks in advance of expected tablet debut
Amazon’s Lab126 shows the progression of devices starting with the original Kindle on the left and the unnamed future device on the right. Assuming the future device is:
1. An Android based tablet
2. Is accurately represented in terms of relative size
Then, Amazon’s Android tablet looks to be about the same form factor as the 3rd generation Amazon Kindle released in August 2010. That is a great “carryable” size for a tablet.
